50/50 Programs

50/50 Sidewalk and Curb Program

The City of Rock Island offers a program for property owners to replace existing sidewalks or curbs in the public right-of-way, which have deteriorated. The city pays 50% of the cost and the property owner pays 50%.

50/50 Tree Program

The City of Rock Island offers a program for property owners to plant a new tree in the public right-of-way. The city pays 50% of the cost of the tree and the property owner pays 50%. The tree program currently has seven species to choose from, but additional species can be submitted for approval. The seven approved species are: sugar maple, pin oak, red oak, ginkgo, honey locust, columnare maple, and little leaf linden.
